Bayern Munich have confirmed that they have reached an agreement with Liverpool over the transfer of goalkeeper Pepe Reina.
Reina was widely expected to leave Anfield on a permanent basis this summer having spent last season on loan at Napoli.
Reports emerged earlier today suggesting that Bayern had agreed a £2m fee for the Spanish international, and chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has now confirmed that Reina will arrive at the German champions in the near future.
"The player will come to Munich in the next few days for a medical examination and to sign his contract," Rummenigge told the club's official website.
"Pepe Reina was eager to come to Bayern Munich. He wanted to embark on this adventure even though he knows that, in Manuel Neuer, he has a keeper in front of him who, if nothing changes, will always remain the number one."
Reina made 394 appearances for Liverpool between 2005 and 2013.
