Saudi Arabian champions Al-Ittihad are allegedly prepared to test Liverpool's resolve with a €150m (£128.7m) bid for Mohamed Salah.

Liverpool are reportedly expected to receive a €150m (£128.7m) offer from Al-Ittihad for Mohamed Salah.

Teams from the Saudi Pro League, particularly those owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), have been relentless in their efforts to add star names to the division over the past three months.

Although some high-profile players have rejected the opportunity to move to the Middle East, the likes of N'Golo Kante, Neymar, Sadio Mane and Karim Benzema have joined Cristiano Ronaldo.

More expensive transfers are expected, however, and it has been well documented that there is interest in Salah eventually making the switch to one of the league's top clubs.

With two years remaining on the Egypt international's contract, Liverpool are vulnerable to offers, especially if Salah indicates that he would like to depart Anfield.

As it stands, manager Jurgen Klopp has suggested that the 31-year-old will be remaining on Merseyside and that he is committed to the Premier League giants for the 2023-24 campaign.

That is despite some reports claiming that Salah is interested in ending his long-term association with Liverpool before the end of the English transfer window on September 1, or the Saudi Arabian window which closes on September 20.

According to CBS Sports, Al-Ittihad are ready to try to tempt Liverpool into a sale by offering €150m for his signature.

The aforementioned Kante and Benzema are already at last season's champions, where they have also been joined by former Liverpool midfielder Fabinho.

Al-Ittihad would allegedly offer Liverpool a fee in excess of £85m in guaranteed payments, the remaining £42.8m coming in add-ons, some more achievable than others.

Liverpool are said to remain insistent that they will not entertain offers for Salah, who has contributed one goal and two assists from his opening three Premier League starts of the season.

If Liverpool were to reconsider their stance, they would require a replacement for their star man when a new central midfielder is also on their radar ahead of Friday's transfer deadline day.

Klopp is not necessarily blessed with experienced attacking options with Cody Gakpo, Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez the other four options, complemented by versatile playmaker Dominik Szoboszlai who may play in a deeper role and young winger Ben Doak.
