Brendan Rodgers believes that his Liverpool side outplayed Manchester City for large parts of their encounter at Anfield this afternoon.
Rodgers saw his side take the lead on two occasions, only to witness Premier League champions City respond both times.
Despite admitting that he was slightly disappointed not to have won the game, Rodgers insisted that it is important his side did not suffer a defeat.
"Sometimes the best team can't always win but if you don't win it's important you don't lose," he told BBC Sport. "You can't win every game, that's why there's only one champion."
Next up for Liverpool is a home match against Arsenal.
