New Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has indicated that he intends to talk to Joe Cole and Alberto Aquilani before deciding whether the pair have a future at Anfield.
Cole, who spent last season on loan at Lille, has not played for the Reds since May 2011.
Meanwhile, Aquilani has not featured for the Anfield side since August 2010, having been loaned out to Juventus and AC Milan.
"They're certainly talented players," Rodgers told the club's official website. "I know Joe well from my time at Chelsea. He's a wonderful talent.
"The boy Aquilani is a wonderful talent and a terrific player but he might not be able to settle.
"He might not be able to adapt to the country so you've got all those issues and sometimes you're not aware of that until you sit down and speak to the people."
Cole arrived at Liverpool on a free transfer from Chelsea in 2010, while Aquilani was brought in from Roma for a fee of £20m in 2009.
