Real Madrid reportedly make contact with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp about becoming the La Liga club's new manager.

Real Madrid have reportedly approached Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp to discuss their managerial position.

Klopp has been with Liverpool since 2015, and he has enjoyed a large amount of success on Merseyside, becoming one the club's greatest managers.

In the 2019-20 season, he guided his side to Premier League glory, ending the club's 30-year wait for a league title.

The season before, they beat Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League final to be crowned champions of Europe for the sixth time in their history.

During his time with the Reds, Klopp has also won the FA Cup, League Cup, UEFA Super Cup and Community Shield, but he has struggled to get the best out of his players this season.

Liverpool are sat in 10th place in the Premier League table with 29 points to their name from 20 matches.

After being beaten 3-0 by Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend, the Reds are currently winless in four Premier League games.

They are also 12 points adrift of the top four - although they do have two games in hand - and the club's poor form has reportedly led Klopp to consider his future.

According to El Nacional, Real Madrid would be interested in appointing Klopp as their manager should he decide to leave Anfield.

The report claims that the La Liga club have already made contact with the German, who has outlined his terms.

Carlo Ancelotti is currently in the dugout at the Santiago Bernabeu, and he has a contract with the club until 2024.

However, there is a belief that his future at the club is uncertain, and whether he stays on beyond this summer will depend on what Real Madrid achieve on the pitch in the second half of the season.

On Saturday, Ancelotti oversaw a 5-3 victory over Al-Hilal in Morocco, securing Real Madrid the Club World Cup title.

The Italian still appears to be under pressure to add to the club's trophy cabinet this term, but retaining their La Liga crown may prove difficult.

Real Madrid are currently eight points adrift of the league leaders Barcelona, although the Copa del Rey and Champions League present viable pathways to silverware.

Los Blancos will face Barcelona in the semi-finals of Spain's domestic cup competition, while they will go up against Klopp and his Liverpool side in the last 16 of the Champions League.
