Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini believes that Luis Suarez does not deserve to be handed a 10-match ban.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini believes that Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has been treated unfairly in receiving a 10-match ban from the Football Association.

The Uruguay international decided against appealing the sanction, which was issued after the forward bit the arm of Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic during last Sunday's 2-2 draw at Anfield.

"Sometimes they make strange decisions for me," The Mirror quotes Mancini as saying. "This case, if you want my opinion, I think it's strange. I think 10 games is too much - this is my opinion.

"I don't know if [Suarez's biting] is more important or worse than other tackles or other situations. But 10 games for me is too much, in my personal opinion.

"I think five or six games would have been enough, but I don't work for the FA. Maybe one, two or three games more [than the compulsory three-game ban for violent conduct], but not 10."

Suarez will be absent for Liverpool's final four games of the campaign, as well as the first six Premier League encounters next season.
