Liverpool confirm that Bill Hogan will become the club's new chief commercial officer while Jen Chang joins the Merseyside oufit as communications director.

Liverpool have announced the appointments of new chief commercial officer Bill Hogan and corporate and communications director Jen Chang.

The American owners, who are currently in the hunt for a new manager, have called on a familiar face in Hogan, who used to be the managing director at Fenway Sports Management, which is the sponsorship section of Fenway Sports Group, who are at the helm of Liverpool and the Boston Red Sox baseball team.

Managing director Ian Ayre told the club's official website: "Having worked at a senior level within Fenway Sports Management, Billy has been working alongside Liverpool for the last 18 months on a number of partnership projects and brings with him a rich pedigree of expertise and resource.

"In many respects this appointment reflects the great spirit of partnership between all of the Fenway Sports Group and Liverpool."

Hogan added: "I've witnessed first-hand the passion and loyalty fans have for this club and I look forward to working with the staff, partners and future sponsors to grow and develop Liverpool's brand and commercial presence globally to help ensure the long-term growth of this storied club."

Chang, who used to work as the editor of Sports Illustrated, said: "I'm privileged to be offered the opportunity to join the Communications Department at Liverpool, a club with an unparalleled tradition and heritage. I've been impressed by the vision outlined by the Fenway Sports Group and am honoured to be part of the process as the club moves forward."

Meanwhile, Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez is due to hold talks with Reds owner John W Henry within the next 36 hours.
