Jurgen Klopp: 'Liverpool must be awake for Brighton & Hove Albion clash'

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says that his side 'must be awake' for their Premier League clash with Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday evening.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said that his side cannot afford to be complacent against Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Merseyside giants have defeated West Ham United and Crystal Palace without conceding a goal, and Klopp's side are favourites to add a third successive victory against the Seagulls on Saturday evening.

However, Klopp has revealed his respect for Brighton boss Chris Hughton, who guided the south coast outfit to a 3-2 win against Manchester United last weekend.

At a press conference, the 50-year-old told reporters: "They are a really good team and I respect a lot what Chris is doing there, not just the Man United game.

"They're very good, organised and on point. United had chances for a much better result but we are warned. We have to be 100%. There is a lot of positivity around here and I like that but we have to be awake and ready for work."

Liverpool scored nine goals in their two fixtures against Brighton last season.
