Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp: 'Jordan Henderson is my captain'

Jurgen Klopp confirms that Jordan Henderson will remain as Liverpool captain when he returns from injury.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Jordan Henderson will resume his role as club captain when he returns from injury.

The 25-year-old has been sidelined since August with a fractured foot and is yet to play under Klopp, who replaced Brendan Rodgers in October.

Rodgers gave the armband to Henderson when the legendary Steven Gerrard left for Los Angeles Galaxy in the summer, and the German says that the midfielder will continue in this capacity despite the change of circumstances.

"I did not have one second of a doubt about this," he is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail. "I don't know who made the decision, maybe the team, I didn't ask because it is logical for me.

"I've met him and he is absolutely a leader. We all hope he's back in a few weeks. And of course Hendo stays captain."

The England international is due back after next week's international break.
