Steven Gerrard: 'No need for Liverpool to panic at this stage'

Liverpool do not need to panic despite their recent run of form, according to former captain and current Under-18s coach Steven Gerrard.

Steven Gerrard has claimed that Liverpool have no cause to panic despite their current poor form.

The Reds have won just one of their last seven games in all competitions and sit seventh in the Premier League table, seven points behind leaders Manchester City.

In addition, Jurgen Klopp's side have failed to keep a clean sheet since their 4-0 win against Arsenal on August 27.

Former captain Gerrard, however, believes that it is too soon to accept criticism and that the manager will turn things around.

"We're seven games into a Premier League campaign - there's no time to panic," Gerrard, who currently coaches the Liverpool Under-18s, told the official club site. "We've got a wonderful manager and coaching staff that are looking after these players.

"I think everything is fine. I'm not one that jumps on the bandwagon and listens to criticism after seven games... I've got every confidence we'll be in the top four and everything will be a little happier than it is at the moment.

Following the international break, Liverpool host Manchester United at Anfield in the league.
