New Liverpool signing Fabinho says that joining the club from Monaco was an easy decision to make.

Fabinho has declared that signing for Liverpool was an easy decision to make.

The Brazil midfielder revealed that he held discussions with international teammate Roberto Firmino and Reds manager Jurgen Klopp before completing his move from Monaco, and spoke of how the conversations filled him with "confidence" about the club.

"I spoke by phone with Firmino. I know him personally as I have been in the national team with him," the Daily Mail quotes Fabinho as saying.

"I was able to talk with the coach as well, with people working at the club. They gave me a lot of confidence, they showed me that they really wanted me. When we met, everything went very well.

"I spoke with people from the club, with the coach, which gave me a lot of confidence. I wanted to go to a club that really wanted me, which showed great interest. With all that, it was easy to say yes."

Fabinho joined Liverpool this week in a deal which could rise to around £43.7m.
