Philippe Coutinho still confident Liverpool can reach Champions League place

Philippe Coutinho is confident that Liverpool still have a "big chance" of finishing in the top four, despite losing to Manchester United last weekend.

Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho believes that he and his teammates are still capable of finishing in the Champions League positions, despite losing to Manchester United last weekend.

The Reds' top-four charge took a hit last Sunday when they suffered a 2-1 defeat to United at Anfield.

Brendan Rodgers's side are now five points adrift of fourth-placed United, but Coutinho has insisted that the race is still on as the Red Devils have games against Manchester City and Chelsea coming up.

"Top four is our target," Coutinho told London Evening Standard. "Unfortunately, we lost an important game against Manchester United, but there are many matches left and they will still have to play other clubs at the top of the table. We still have a big chance of finishing in the top four."

After the international break, Liverpool will face Arsenal at the Emirates.
