Mario Balotelli 'working towards the future' after scoring first Liverpool goal

Mario Balotelli says that he is 'working towards the future' after scoring his first Liverpool goal in last night's Champions League opening victory.

Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli has claimed that he is focused on the future after opening his scoring account for the Merseyside outfit in last night's Champions League clash.

The Italy international found the back of the net in last night's 2-1 nervy win over Ludogorets Razgrad in the Reds' first Group B game of the elite competition.

Today, Balotelli has taken to Twitter to say: "Good morning Liverpool! Good morning everybody! Today is a new day! We dont care about the past! We work for the future."

Liverpool's next game is away at West Ham United in the Premier League on Saturday.
