John Aldridge slams Liverpool's display at Hull City

Liverpool legend John Aldridge slams his former side's display after they were beaten 3-1 by Hull City on Sunday.

Liverpool legend John Aldridge said that his former side failed to "turn up" in their 3-1 defeat to Hull City on Sunday.

The Reds went down to a shock defeat against the Tigers at the KC Stadium and Aldridge was critical of the performance after the game.

Aldridge wrote in his Liverpool Echo column: "The bottom line is Hull wanted it more than us at the KC Stadium on Sunday. It was Liverpool FC's worst performance since we lost to Oldham in the FA Cup back in January.

"We struggled big time and it just shows that you cannot afford to take any team for granted in this league.

"I don't want to name names but too many senior players just didn't turn up. Only the players themselves know whether it was a case of complacency."

The Reds host Norwich City this evening.
