Sports Mole looks at how Liverpool could line up for the Merseyside Derby against Everton at Anfield in the Premier League on Monday.

Liverpool have been given a huge boost in preparation for the Merseyside derby against Everton on Monday, as Diogo Jota is set to be named in the squad following a four-month layoff.

The Portuguese attacker has not featured for Jurgen Klopp's side since a calf injury sustained against Manchester City in October ended his World Cup dreams.

Jota has been back in full training though, and he could even make an unlikely start to bolster a Liverpool attack which has failed to score in their last three Premier League games.

No player in the Premier League has had more shots or shots on target than Darwin Nunez since the World Cup without scoring, so Liverpool could do with the additional firepower at their disposal.

There are issues in defence for Liverpool though, as Klopp has revealed Virgil van Dijk is not likely to be ready in time for this one.

Ibrahima Konate is already ruled out too, so that leaves Joel Matip and Joe Gomez as their only available options at centre-back, and the duo had a torrid time during their 3-0 defeat at Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend.

There are potential issues in the middle of the pitch for Klopp to deal with too, as Thiago has picked up an injury during the week that will likely rule him out of this one.

Fabinho was left out of the Liverpool squad entirely last weekend and Naby Keita did not have the best of afternoons either, so the trio Klopp opts to go with in midfield will be eagerly awaited.

Having barely featured at all in a Liverpool shirt since joining on loan from Juventus, Arthur is close to returning from injury and could be another option in the middle.

Arthur, alongside Brazilian compatriot Roberto Firmino, has recently returned to full training, but a start for either does look unlikely at this stage.

Luis Diaz remains on the sidelines for Liverpool meaning Cody Gakpo is expected to start again as he still searches for his first Liverpool goal.

Liverpool possible starting lineup:
Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Matip, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Bajcetic; Salah, Nunez, Gakpo
