Liverpool's Brendan Rodgers: 'No timeline on Daniel Sturridge's return to action'

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers says that there is "no timeline" on Daniel Sturridge's return to action following a five-month spell out injured.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has claimed that there is "no timeline" on when Daniel Sturridge will return to the starting lineup.

The 26-year-old striker has been out of action since April after suffering a hip injury, which required surgery.

The England international spent months of rehabilitation in the USA, and returned to training at Melwood this week.

"Sturridge returned to training but there's no timeline on when he will play in games," Rodgers said in his weekly press conference. "He looks really sharp in training, the fittest he's looked for 18 months."

Meanwhile, captain Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana have missed the team's last two games due to injuries, and Rodgers remains uncertain over whether they will be available for tomorrow's clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
