Joe Allen will undergo a scan after limping out of Liverpool's pre-season friendly match against Swindon Town with a hamstring injury.
The Wales international, who featured in 32 matches for the Reds last season, managed just 13 minutes of the 2-1 victory at the County Ground yesterday.
Manager Brendan Rodgers told BBC Sport: "I think Joe was his hamstring, unfortunately, so that doesn't look so good for us. But we'll see how that is [Monday] when he has a scan."
Liverpool will play Stoke City in their opening match of the new Premier League season on Sunday.
