Danny Ings: Ankle knock "should be fine"

Liverpool striker Danny Ings plays down an injury scare ahead of England's clash with Estonia, after coming off in the Merseyside derby against Everton.

Liverpool striker Danny Ings has played down an injury scare after coming off in the second half of his side's clash with Everton this afternoon.

The 23-year-old scored his team's only goal in a 1-1 draw at Goodison Park, before the former Burnley man was brought off after half time, but Ings insists that his knock will not hinder his chances of playing for England next week.

"I struggled through the game, I just got my ankle caught in Phil Jagielka's legs - it was great defending from himself - and as the game went on I sort of felt like I couldn't move as much," Ings told Sky Sports News.

"It'll be assessed but it should be fine."

Ings could win his first full international cap in England's Euro 2016 qualifier with Estonia on Friday.
