The visitors dominated for the majority of the opening period, with Luis Suarez looking particularly impressive.

However, with the teams seemingly poised to reach the break on level terms, Gera produced a real moment of magic.

The 33-year-old Hungary international chested down a loose ball on the edge of the Liverpool D, before unleashing an unstoppable volley that whistled past Pepe Reina into the top corner from 25 yards.
