Liverpool grant Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane permission to fly to Ghana for an awards ceremony, which takes place 24 hours before the FA Cup tie against Everton.

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane will jet 9,000 miles to Ghana and back prior to Liverpool's meeting with rivals Everton in the FA Cup next month.

The Reds announced on Monday evening that permission has been granted for both players to attend the Confederation of African Football awards bash in Accra on January 4.

That is just 24 hours before Liverpool are due to face Everton at Anfield in one of the picks of the third-round ties, with the game being brought forward to the Friday night for television coverage.

A private plane will be hired for Salah and Mane, who are up for the African Player of the Year award along with Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The flight time, all going to plan, is around seven hours each way.
