Brendan Rodgers wary of Christian Benteke and Gabriel Agbonlahor

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers highlights the threat of Aston Villa strikers Christian Benteke and Gabriel Agbonlahor ahead of their FA Cup semi-final.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has admitted that he is wary of the threat that could be posed by Aston Villa strikers Christian Benteke and Gabriel Agbonlahor in this afternoon's FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.

A resurgent Benteke has struck eight goals in his past six games for the Villans, while Agbonalor has also seen an upturn in form since Tim Sherwood took charge in February.

Rodgers told Liverpool's official website: "In most games, Liverpool will go into it normally as favourites because of the sheer size of the club and the talent that we have. We're happy to accept that, but Aston Villa have been playing well.

"They have changed the shape of their team and Benteke is a striker who is doing well at the moment, supported well by Agbonlahor and their team is working well.

"They had a good result against Tottenham so that will give them confidence and they can maybe feel they can take their eye a little bit off the league, even though they'll probably have a bit of work to do in that."

The winners of this afternoon's clash will meet Arsenal after the Gunners edged out Reading on Saturday.
