Brendan Rodgers has conceded that striker Mario Balotelli must do more in order to kick-start his Liverpool career.
The Italy international failed to find the net for the fourth successive outing as the Reds went down 1-0 to Basel in the Champions League tonight.
Balotelli has scored just once since his £16m summer move from AC Milan, but Liverpool boss Rodgers insists that the 24-year-old is working hard to solve his goalscoring woes.
"He worked hard, [but] needs to do more. He will be judged on what he creates and what he scores and he didn't score," he told Sky Sports News. "The boy is trying, he is working hard."
Marco Streller netted the only goal of the game on 52 minutes to help the Swiss club to victory.
