Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Benfica

Sports Mole rounds up all of Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final first leg with Benfica.

Liverpool resume their quest for Champions League glory with the first leg of their quarter-final tie with Benfica at the Estadio da Luz on Tuesday night.

Jurgen Klopp's side saw off Inter Milan 2-1 on aggregate to make the last eight - winning 2-0 away at San Siro before an inconsequential 1-0 loss at Anfield in the second leg.

The Reds were briefly top of the Premier League table after Diogo Jota and Fabinho netted in a 2-0 win over Watford on Saturday, but they were swiftly knocked off their perch by Manchester City.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the first leg.

Naby Keita

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: April 5 (vs. Benfica)

Naby Keita picked up a knee injury during the most recent international break, and while the issue was enough to keep him out of the Watford win, he is expected to be fit for the first leg.

Curtis Jones

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: April 5 (vs. Benfica)

Curtis Jones was given the nod from the opening whistle against Watford before coming off with a twisted ankle, but he was able to walk off the turf at Anfield and should be able to make the squad for the first leg.

Joel Matip

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Head
Possible return date: April 5 (vs. Benfica)

Joel Matip sustained a "golf ball" sized bump on his head on Saturday but was able to continue after being bandaged up, and his spot in the side is not expected to be in any danger this week.

LIVERPOOL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Liverpool have no players suspended for the first leg, but Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota are both one yellow card away from incurring European bans.
