Crawley Town upset high-flying Leyton Orient

Leyton Orient slump to their third defeat of the season following the 3-2 loss to Crawley Town at Brisbane Road today.

Leyton Orient have succumbed to their third defeat of the League One season after losing 3-2 to Crawley Town at the Matchroom Stadium this afternoon.

Orient, who sit at the summit of England's third tier on goal difference, were ahead within 15 minutes of kick off courtesy of Moses Odubajo.

However, the Reds rallied and stunned the league leaders by hitting two goals in the final nine minutes of the half to secure a 2-1 lead at the break.

Veteran striker Gary Alexander, who enjoyed a four-year spell at Brisbane Road, came back to haunt his former club by hitting the equaliser, before Andy Drury edged John Gregory's men ahead on the stroke of the interval.

Gregory, who had yet to taste victory as Crawley boss since replacing Richie Barker, watched on as the chances of opening his account rose massively when Nicky Adams ensured that the visitors boasted a two-goal lead ahead of the final 14 mintues.

Marvin Bartley pulled one back for Russell Slade's men in the dying stages, but it would prove a mere consolation as Crawley held on as Gregory registered his first win.

Consequently, the Londoners remain top of League One, albeit on goal difference after Wolverhampton Wanderers were held to a 3-3 draw with Rotherham United.
