Real Zaragoza earn draw at Levante

Real Zaragoza move a point further away from the relegation zone in La Liga with a 0-0 draw at Levante.

Real Zaragoza have edged a point further away from the relegation zone in La Liga with a goalless draw at Levante.

The hosts created the better chances in the first half, but Robert Acquafresca shot narrowly wide before Pedro Rios aimed his header straight at Zaragoza goalkeeper Roberto.

However, Levante were reduced to 10 men on 57 minutes when Papakouli Diop was shown a straight red card for a reckless challenge on Victor Romero.

The visitors nearly capitalised on their numerical advantage when David Navarro came close to diverting the ball into his own net, while Roberto kept out Vicente Iborra's effort late on at the other end.

Levante ended the game with nine men when Pedro Lopez was booked for a second time for a foul on Adria Carmona.
