Leicester City have reportedly moved closer to securing the signing of West Bromwich Albion defender Jonny Evans.
After the Baggies were relegated from the Premier League, a relegation release clause of £3m became active in Evans's contract and that has resulted in plenty of interest in the centre-back's signature.
However, according to the Leicester Mercury, it is the Foxes who are closing in on a deal for the Northern Ireland international and want a transfer completed sooner rather than later.
There have been suggestions that an agent's fee is delaying the completion of the switch, but the 30-year-old is still expected to make the move to the King Power Stadium.
Evans is regarded as a replacement for Robert Huth, who has already revealed that he will be leaving the East Midlands outfit this summer.
