Leicester City midfielder Tom Lawrence has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Brighton & Hove Albion.
The newly-promoted Premier League side are currently in the process of trying to build a squad capable of remaining in the top flight, and four first-team signings have already been made by boss Chris Hughton.
However, according to The Mirror, the Seagulls manager has shown a willingness to break the club's transfer record in order to sign Welsh international Lawrence.
Despite featuring on the Foxes' pre-season tour of Asia, the 23-year-old remains down the pecking order at the King Power Stadium after spending last season out on loan at Ipswich Town.
Lawrence netted 11 goals from 36 appearances for a team who only finished in mid-table in the Championship, and that has seemingly encouraged Brighton to make a bid in the region of £8m.
The former Manchester United trainee has only featured in the Premier League on four occasions, with four loan spells being spent at the second tier since November 2014.
