Leicester City choose Sir Dave Richards and Terry Robinson to spearhead a boardroom shake-up at the King Power Stadium, as chairman and director of football respectively.

Leicester City have reportedly chosen Sir Dave Richards to take over as the club's chairman next month, with the move coming as part of a boardroom shake-up at the King Power Stadium.

Richards ended a 14-year tenure as chairman of the Premier League last month, but is understood to have accepted an instant return to football with Leicester.

The 70-year-old is a close friend of the Srivaddhanaprabha family in charge at Leicester, and is thought to have played a key role in the negotiations which saw them take control of the club in 2010.

Former Stoke City academy chief Terry Robinson and Richards will take up respective roles as director of football and chairman at Leicester on July 1, according to The Telegraph.

The recruitment of Richards is thought to have been motivated by the owners' desire to work within the new financial fair play regulations, with his first job to reduce the club's sizeable wage bill.

Foxes boss Nigel Pearson has reportedly been assured that his job is safe ahead of next season, with the East Midlands club aiming to secure promotion to the Premier League.
