Leicester City's Claudio Ranieri: 'It will be very difficult to win title again'

Claudio Ranieri admits that it will be "very difficult" for his Leicester City side to repeat last season's Premier League title win.

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has admitted that it will be "very difficult" for his team to win the Premier League title for a second consecutive season.

The Foxes stunned the world of football when they won the league title for the first time in the club's history in May.

Ranieri believes that his players face an uphill climb if they want to repeat the success due to the arrivals of Pep Guardiola and Antonio Conte at Manchester City and Chelsea respectively.

The Italian coach does, though, hope that his team, who will play Champions League football next season, can finish in the top 10 and win a trophy.

"I'd like to restart from the beginning," Sky Sports News quotes Ranieri as saying. "Forty points. Then, after that, we want to be in the top 10. Then we want to go forward in the Champions League. The other dream is to lift another cup. Why not? Try to be positive.

"To repeat [winning the league] will be very difficult, but we are fighters. I hope to repeat the dream with Leicester. All of the world is curious about what will happen now with Leicester. It will be an interesting Premier League this season because the big teams have brought in new managers and new players."

Leicester won the title by 10 points.
