Nigel Pearson wants no let-up from Leicester City

Nigel Pearson reminds Leicester City that they cannot take their foot off the pedal as they travel to Sunderland looking to win their relegation battle once and for all.

Nigel Pearson has moved to remind his Leicester City players that relegation remains a possibility ahead of Saturday's trip to Sunderland.

The Foxes have won six of their last seven Premier League outings as Pearson's side sit 15th, three points clear of danger and one ahead of the Black Cats.

Victory at the Stadium of Light would guarantee City's top-flight status for another year, and the Leicester boss has told his troops to not allow their hard work go to waste and get dragged back into the dogfight.

"The two games are ones that we have to get the right result for us," he told reporters. "The game against Sunderland is a very important game but, in the context of the season, it remains very much a similar message.

"That is that we want it to be in our own hands, but this gives us another opportunity.

"Our efforts in this run have made it a more realistic possibility to stay up. I don't think I'll fall into the trap of going into any game thinking the job is done. That's not the case."

Leicester beat Southampton 2-0 last week.
