Nigel Pearson: 'Leicester City unlucky to lose'

Nigel Pearson believes that his Leicester team were unlucky to lose 1-0 at home to West Brom, as an Esteban Cambiasso own goal condemned them to a third straight defeat.

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has insisted that his side were unlucky in their narrow defeat to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

The Foxes went down 1-0 at the King Power Stadium as an own goal from Esteban Cambiasso saw them suffer a third consecutive loss in the Premier League.

The result has kept Leicester close to the relegation zone, but Pearson is confident that his team can turn their form around soon.

"It took an own goal to separate the sides today and that is an indicator of how small the margins are," he told BBC Sport. "We can't get too wrapped up in the negativity that some people throw in our direction. When you have setbacks in life you have to take a look at what is actually going on.

"Today we were slightly unlucky. We have some really good highs and we have had some lows. Days like today are frustrating experiences. I know what we are capable off and I'm still very confident, given a little bit more time, we will make sure we maximize our quality."

Leicester are back in Premier League action next Saturday when they make the trip to high-flying Southampton.
