Scottish giants Rangers may be forced to put winger Ryan Kent up for sale this summer if he fails to sign a new contract, according to a report.

The 25-year-old has been a first-team regular for the Gers this season, scoring three goals and providing 15 assists in 35 appearances across all competitions.

However, Football Insider reports that Kent's long-term future with the club remains uncertain after he rejected a contract extension last summer amid interest from Leeds United.

Kent eventually stayed put at Ibrox and Rangers' hierarchy have since held internal talks over the matter, with club officials deciding to offer the winger a new lucrative deal.

The Englishman's current contract is set to expire in June 2023 and should he fail to agree fresh terms, then the Gers may be forced to put the player up for sale this summer to avoid losing him for free.

Kent is believed to have a £20m release clause, but Rangers may be willing to accept bids below that figure.
