Bournemouth are reportedly locked in a battle with several Premier League and La Liga sides chasing the signature of Blackburn Rovers forward Ben Brereton Diaz.

Bournemouth have reportedly become locked in a battle with several Premier League and La Liga sides chasing the signature of Blackburn Rovers forward Ben Brereton Diaz this summer.

The 23-year-old's stock grew significantly during the 2021-22 campaign, having netted 22 goals and contributed three assists in 37 Championship appearances for Blackburn.

The forward also burst onto the scene with national side Chile following his debut in June 2021, where he has become a hugely popular figure since, with four goals in 11 caps for his country so far, which he qualifies for through his Chilean mother.

Blackburn activated a one-year extension clause in their favour this summer to keep the forward at Ewood Park for the time being, although with the prospect of losing him on a free transfer at the end of the 2022-23 campaign, The Sun are reporting that Rovers could look to sell their asset in the upcoming transfer window.

The report suggests that the Championship outfit are looking for a fee of around £13m for Brereton Diaz, with newly-promoted Bournemouth among a host of clubs registering an interest.

Leeds United and Everton are reportedly among the Premier League outfits chasing the Chilean as well however, whilst the report also outlines how La Liga sides Real Betis, Sevilla and Valencia hold a serious interest in taking the forward to Spain this summer.

Manuel Pellegrini's Betis could use the qualification for Europa League football to persuade Brereton Diaz to make the move there, whilst rivals Sevilla have qualified for the Champions League.

Since making the move to Blackburn from Nottingham Forest in January 2019, Brereton Diaz has gone on to make 110 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring 31 goals.
