Result: Leeds United 1-0 Portsmouth

Danny Pugh's first-half header is enough for Leeds to see off Portsmouth at Elland Road.

Leeds have extended their unbeaten run in the league to four games by edging past Portsmouth at Elland Road.

Danny Pugh headed the only goal of the game from a Robert Snodgrass corner in the 14th minute.

The visitors rarely troubled Andy Lonergan in the Leeds goal, with Greg Halford hitting the woodwork and Liam Lawrence also going close.

The home side jump two places to 11th and travel to Doncaster on Friday, October 14 for their next league game while Pompey, who drop one place to 18th, host Barnsley the following day.
