Leeds United manager Garry Monk has claimed that he needs to boost his squad by making some signings in the January transfer window.

The Championship side are currently fourth in the table thanks to five wins in their last six league games, but the former Swansea City boss believes that the squad is "thin" and needs help.

"In terms of incomings, ideally we need to help the squad," Monk told Sky Sports News. "We have quite a thin squad as it is. [Any signings] would only be to help the squad that we have.

"We have been together six months now and it is working in a good way. The only way we would bring someone in is if it will help us.

"If we can do the right business, for the right player, right situation, then like every transfer window, you will look to boost the squad you already have."
