Leeds United striker Ross McCormack: 'Everything went right'

Leeds United striker Ross McCormack says that he got lucky when scoring four goals at Charlton Athletic this weekend.

Leeds United frontman Ross McCormack has said that he got lucky when scoring four goals at Charlton Athletic on Saturday.

The Scottish striker's haul was enough for a 4-2 victory at The Valley as Leeds moved to within one point of the Championship's top six.

"I've definitely played better than that, but it was one of those days when I had four shots and four goals," the 27-year-old told the club's official website.

"It was unbelievable. Everyone says you have days like that in your career, but it was my first. I'm hoping it won't be my last."

McCormack is now the second tier's top scorer with 11 goals, one ahead of Burnley's Danny Ings and Jordan Rhodes of Blackburn Rovers.
