Leeds United manager Thomas Christiansen slams referee Simon Hooper's decision making after the Whites suffer a 2-1 loss to Derby County on Tuesday night.

Leeds United manager Thomas Christiansen has slammed referee Simon Hooper's decision making after the Whites suffered a 2-1 loss to Derby County on Tuesday night.

Leeds sustained their fourth loss in six games and were leapfrogged by the Rams, who are now two points clear of them in the playoff places.

Christiansen was frustrated after referee Hooper rejected penalty claims from the home supporters when Derby defender Andre Wisdom fouled Ezgjan Alioski in the first half.

Hooper then awarded the Rams a penalty that was converted by Sam Winnall after Hadi Sacko fouled Tom Lawrence, although replays suggested that the foul was committed outside the box.

"In the mood that I am right now, it is better not to speak," Christiansen told reporters. "I believe all of you have seen different situations in the game.

"There was a clear penalty in the 44th minute against Aloski. And the non-penalty that was given in the second half. Against that, I feel impotent.

"It's a shame for the players that they should suffer a defeat because of only one person that took those decisions. It is difficult for me to control the situation when it is not in my hands. We didn't deserve it."

Leeds travel to Brentford on Saturday before hosting Middlesbrough at Elland Road.
