Leeds United confirm that versatile forward Tyler Roberts has undergone successful surgery on a ruptured hamstring tendon and is sidelined for the next three months.

Leeds United have confirmed that versatile forward Tyler Roberts has undergone successful surgery on a ruptured hamstring tendon.

The 23-year-old sustained the injury in the 78th minute of last weekend's 1-0 defeat away at Leicester City, just two minutes after coming on as a substitute.

After receiving treatment from the club's medical staff on the pitch, Roberts managed to stayed on for the closing stages of the game even though he was visibly in pain.

Leeds have since released a short statement on their official website, confirming that the Wales international will be sidelined for the next three months.

The statement read: "Leeds United can confirm Tyler Roberts has successfully undergone surgery on a ruptured hamstring tendon sustained in last Saturday's Premier League game at Leicester City.

"Roberts will spend the next three months on the sidelines. Everyone at Leeds United wishes Tyler a speedy recovery."

Roberts, who has featured in 23 Premier League games for Leeds this season, is therefore set to miss the rest of the season as well as Wales' World Cup playoff against Austria on March 24.
