Italy coach Cesare Prandelli has admitted that his side's 1-1 draw with Spain was a fair result in Sunday's Euro 2012 Group C opener in Gdansk.
Antonio Di Natale had given the Azzurri the lead on the hour against the defending champions, but Cesc Fabregas slotted in just two minutes later to give his side a share of the spoils.
"The result was a fair one," Prandelli told Rai Uno. "Our intention was to play the game, not just contain our opponents.
"The draw? There is regret at seeing our lead slip. In a few days, we have changed our attitude both physically and mentally. We played as a team and well."
The 1968 winners will next face Croatia in Poznan on Thursday.
