Free agent Jay Tabb signs a permanent contract with loanee club Ipswich Town.

Jay Tabb has agreed a two-year contract with Championship outfit Ipswich Town.

The former Republic of Ireland youth international, who spent part of last season on loan with the Tractor Boys, was released by Reading in May.

Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy then made contact with the 29-year-old, who has now decided to sign on at Portman Road on a permanent basis.

"I really enjoyed my time at Ipswich and I'm delighted to sign permanently," he told the club's official website. "I'm pleased to get things sorted and I can't wait to get going again."

Prior to Reading, Tabb had played for Brentford, Crawley Town and Coventry City.
