Ipswich Town defender Elliott Hewitt extends Colchester United loan stint

League One side Colchester United extend the loan of Elliott Hewitt from nearby Ipswich Town for a further month.

Colchester United have extended the loan of Elliott Hewitt from nearby Ipswich Town for a further month.

The 20-year-old has made a total of 20 appearances for Colchester since initially joining on loan last October.

"Elliott has done very well for us and gives us a different option," U's boss Tony Humes told the club website.

"I think we missed him when he was out suspended and he has been great since he's been back, including two assists in Saturday's win against Bristol City."

Ipswich have a 24-hour recall clause, but if it is not needed, Hewitt can play in six more League One games for Colchester.
