Darren Ambrose has had his third spell at Ipswich Town extended until at least to the end of the season.
The 30-year-old midfielder, who started his career at Portman Road, rejoined the Tractor Boys on a free transfer in September by signing a six-month deal.
He scored his first goal of the season in the 1-1 FA Cup third-round draw with Southampton on Sunday, and Mick McCarthy has been sufficiently impressed to offer him a new contract until the summer.
Ambrose left Ipswich, who are second in the Championship table, to sign for Newcastle United in 2003 and has since played for Charlton Athletic, Crystal Palace, Birmingham City and Greek side Apollon Smyrni.
Meanwhile, defender Freddie Veseli has had his Ipswich contract cancelled by mutual consent, and striker Jack Marriott has agreed to remain on loan at Conference Premier side Woking until the end of the campaign.
