Mick McCarthy pleased with Ipswich Town effort

Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy praises his team's "team spirit" after they record a 2-0 win away at Huddersfield Town.

Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy has praised the "work ethic" of his side after they earned three points on their second long-distance trip in three days.

The Tractor Boys lost 2-0 at Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, but after they returned to the North to beat Huddersfield Town by the same scoreline, McCarthy admitted that he was impressed with his team's response to their previous defeat.

The 55-year-old is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "It shows that we have a good team spirit and work ethic.

"We were beaten by Blackburn and had to travel home and then back up to Huddersfield and there was a danger we could get another slapping.

"That didn't happen and we had a top response from the lads."

The result in Yorkshire leaves Ipswich two points outside of the playoffs with five fixtures remaining.
