Half-Time Report: Ipswich Town cruising at Huddersfield Town

Ipswich Town score twice in the first 45 minutes at Huddersfield Town to hold a deserved lead.

Ipswich Town's playoff charge remains on track with a solid 2-0 half-time lead against Huddersfield Town in the Championship.

The away side flew out of the blocks and were comfortably the better team in the opening stages, and could have gone ahead inside five minutes but, from Daryl Murphy's cross, Paul Anderson's header was saved by Alex Smithies.

They did not have to wait long, however, for the opening goal. It was Anderson again who caused problems, this time managing to curl an effort past Smithies and into the far corner.

It took until nearly the quarter-hour mark for the Terriers to have their first sight of goal, but when it did arrive Nahki Wells slashed his strike well over the bar.

Anderson could have added a second with 10 minutes of the half to play as he tested Smithies, before Murphy did exactly that with a close-range poked finish after the ball was headed on towards him.

Ipswich continued to press but were unable to add another, with the 2-0 lead at the break fully justified by their performance so far.
