Former Inter Milan midfielder Ben Greenhalgh looks forward to beginning his career with Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Football's Next Star winner Ben Greenhalgh has revealed that he is looking forward to beginning his career with Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

The midfielder secured a contract with Inter Milan after winning the TV series in 2010, but he was unable to make the breakthrough at the Italian club.

He told the Daily Mail: "Terry [Butcher] seems like a really good manager. Obviously if things aren't going well he'll let you know. But before, I'd only ever heard about the bad side of Terry Butcher.

"Then I was sitting in his office with him and realised what a nice bloke he is. The most interesting thing is the style of football he wants to play, which I didn't expect at all. I'll get exposure in Scotland. People have asked me why I'm going and the English see it as a League one or Two. But in the SPL, three teams can qualify for Europe. So if you think about that, it's better than the Championship.

"In Italy you get six or seven touches of the ball before a defender comes at you. There will be a big difference in Scotland. I'm ready for it. Hopefully at Inverness I can work between the Italian and British sides of the game."

Greenhalgh has previously been at Welling United.
