Scottish Premiership roundup: Inverness Caledonian Thistle the new leaders

Inverness Caledonian Thistle are top of the Scottish Premiership after defeating Hamilton Academical in a six-goal thriller.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle have defeated Hamilton Academical in a thrilling 4-2 encounter to climb to the top of the Scottish Premiership.

Tony Andreu opened the scoring for the Accies, but Cally were level in the 25th minute through Billy McKay, the striker claiming his first goal since August.

The home side raced into a 3-1 lead in the second period as Gary Warren found the net and McKay claimed his second, but another Andreu strike reduced the deficit before James Vincent landed the killer blow in the 78th minute.

Dundee moved up one place to sixth courtesy of a 1-1 draw with St Johnstone. David Clarkson was on target for the Dens Park outfit before the break, but a Brian Graham penalty rescued a point for the Saints in the second half.

Bottom club Ross County drew level on points with St Mirren above them after rallying to a 3-0 win at Kilmarnock, with Graham Carey, Michael Gardyne and Paul Quinn all getting their names on the scoresheet.

In Saturday's final match, Christie Elliott scored the only goal of the game between St Mirren and Partick Thistle to hand maximum points to the latter and move them up to eighth.

Celtic take on Aberdeen away on Sunday and can move level on points with Cally with a win.
