Inter Milan president Erik Thohir has said that the club are still locked in talks to sign Cardiff City midfielder Gary Medel but are yet to agree a deal.
The Chilean international impressed at the World Cup in Brazil this summer and has been heavily linked with a switch to Italy ever since that tournament came to a close.
Thohir told Gazzetta dello Sport: "We are still discussing a few details and I don't want to announce anything before a deal is done.
"It is clear that we must also consider alternatives.
"I don't want to name names but there are a few players that have said no to us in the past that may have changed their mind."
Inter are also said to be looking at the likes of Manchester City forward Stevan Jovetic and Tottenham Hotspur winger Erik Lamela.
