Inter Milan, Juventus share the spoils

Inter Milan and Juventus share the spoils as they draw 1-1 at the San Siro this evening.

Inter Milan drew 1-1 with Juventus at the San Siro this evening after Arturo Vidal's 75th-minute goal cancelled out Mauro Icardi's opener for the hosts.

The Nerazzurri created the game's first real opportunity as Yuto Nagatomo found space and tested Gianluigi Buffon, but the Italian goalkeeper was equal to the defender's effort. The Japanese centre-back was in action again soon after, this time cutting inside before lashing a shot just over Buffon's bar.

Juventus settled into the game and began to pass the ball around efficiently, with Andrea Pirlo instigating his side's attacks from deep.

However, throughout the first half they were unable to create many clear-cut opportunities and Inter nearly made them pay as Ricky Alvarez robbed Pirlo to set up a counter-attack, leaving Buffon to produce a well-timed save to keep out Saphir Taider's finish.

After the break, Inter made inroads into cutting Juve's rate of possession down, but failed to do much with the ball.

That was until Icardi was introduced and it was not long before the substitute got his name on the scoresheet with a piece of expert finishing, guiding the ball in at Buffon's near post in 73rd minute.

But Inter's lead was not to last long as Vidal made use of good work from Kwadwo Asamoah to finish nicely, putting his side back on level terms just two minutes after going behind.

Inter had their goalkeeper Samir Handanovic to thank in the last exchanges of the game, as he pulled off a fantastic save to prevent Fabio Quagliarella from providing Juventus with a last-minute winner.
