Hull City are to turn their attention to signing Burnley's Charlie Austin after having a bid rejected for Celtic's Gary Hooper, according to a report.

Hull City are ready to end their interest in Celtic striker Gary Hooper and pursue Burnley's Charlie Austin, according to a report.

The Tigers' bid of £5m for the Bhoys frontman was rebuffed as manager Steve Bruce looked to strengthen his side ahead of their return to the Premier League.

However, their bid was knocked back and they think that they will be wasting their time with another offer leading them to chase Austin, reports The Express.

Austin scored 28 goals in 40 appearances last season in all competitions for the Clarets.
