Wales deny Hull City approach for Chris Coleman

The Welsh FA insists that it has not received an approach from Hull City over the possibility of Chris Coleman becoming the club's new manager.

The Welsh FA (FAW) has insisted that there has been "no contact" from Hull City over the possible appointment of Chris Coleman as their new manager.

The newly-promoted Tigers are looking for a new boss after Steve Bruce stepped down from his role just three weeks before the start of the Premier League season.

Coleman is thought to be on Hull's shortlist having famously steered Wales to the semi-finals of Euro 2016 this summer, but the FAW have denied that there has been an approach for the 46-year-old.

"We have had no contact whatsoever from the club regarding the speculation," said a Welsh FA spokesman.

"All talks with Chris have been on how we can move forward after Euro 2016."

Coleman recently signed a new two-year contract with Wales to take him through to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The likes of Roberto Martinez and former United States manager Bob Bradley have also been linked with the post at the KC Stadium.
